Fredrik was born January 19, 1848 and died July 7, 1928.
They lived in Målek, Gällstad, Älvsborgs län.

Born nov. 13, 1863, Kila, Värmland, Sweden
Immigrated to Amerika in 1883.

Dead december 29, 1947, South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana.
He was married to Jennie Amalia Johnson in July 21, 1894 in South Bend.
They got three children: Pearl Edith, June 27, 1895
Alva Victoria, Máy 16, 1898
Arthur Valdemar, February 6, 1905.

Unfortunately, I have no photos of them...

Estate Inventory of my grandmother's father 1911th.
His name was Johannes Svensson.

Born May 15, 1825 in Naum, Skaraborg.
Dead Augusti 8, 1911 in Gudmundsgården, Boarp.

Headstone for my grandfather and grandmother Axel and Judith Andersson.
Also for their son Gunnar and their daughters Sonja and Ella.
It is the cemetery in Gällstad och Södra Säm, Västergötland.

Now it's time for a yummy cake....

Tosca Cake

2 eggs
125 g sugar
100 g flour
1 tsp baking powder
100 g butter
2 tbsp cream

50 g butter
100 g sugar
2 tbsp cream
2 tbsp flour
50 g flaked almonds
75 g hazelnuts, chopped
75 g almonds, chopped

Preheat the oven to 175°C.
Butter and flour a springform pan, about 24 cm in diameter.

Beat eggs and sugar until very fluffy.
Melt the butter. Stir in flour and baking powder with the eggs,
and then fold in butter and cream. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes.

Meanwile, prepare the topping.
Just mix all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a obil.
Spread it on top of the cake, and bake for another 15 minutes.
Let it cool more or less completely before taking it out of the pan.

In Swedish:


2 ägg
125 g socker
100 g mjöl
1 tsk bakpulver
100 g smör
2 msk grädde

50 g smör
100 g socker
2 msk grädde
2 msk mjöl
50 g mandelflarn
75 g hasselnötter, grovhackad
75 g mandel, grovhackad

Sätt ugnen på 175°C.
Smörj och mjöla en form med löstagbara kanter, ca 24 cm i diameter.

Vispa ägg och socker mycket pösigt. Smält smöret.
Rör ner mjöl och bakpulver i äggsmeten, och till sist smör och grädde.
Häll i formen och grädda i ca 25 minuter.

Gör under tiden toppingen - blanda allt i en liten kastrull och koka upp.
Bred över kakan, och grädda i ungefär 15 minuter till.
Låt svalna helt innan du tar ut den ur formen.
